This Independence Day, there’s good news for JioHotstar users. The platform has launched a special campaign called “Operation Tiranga: Tiranga Ek, Kahaniyaan Anek”, under which on August 15, users will be able to watch JioHotstar’s entire content library for free, without any subscription. This includes the latest movies, web series, special shows, and originals. According to the company, the aim of this offer is to give people a perfect combo of entertainment and patriotism on Independence Day.
As per JioHotstar, on this special free-access day, the platform’s interface will also be decorated in Independence Day theme. Users will see a special patriotic splash screen, with content curated based on the three colors of the tricolor. For example, under the saffron theme: Take Off, Madras Cafe, and IB71 will be available; under the white theme: Neerja and Mangal Pandey: The Rising; and under the green theme: Airlift and Kesari 2.
The company also revealed that the campaign is being promoted on a large scale. Additionally, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), JioHotstar has also launched an initiative to raise awareness about respecting the national flag and flag etiquette.
For free access, users will not need to enter any coupon code or payment details. On August 15, they just need to log in to the JioHotstar website or mobile app to watch the content. The offer will be valid across all devices — smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and desktops.
Currently, JioHotstar’s paid plans start at ₹149 per month, while the annual plans are available at ₹499 (Mobile), ₹899 (Super), and ₹1,499 (Premium).
